Then come back to the kitchen with us for a big canning day! Together as a family, we turn all those fresh tomatoes into rich, homemade spaghetti sauce perfect for pantry storage. From washing and prepping the vegetables to cooking, seasoning, and sealing jars, we’ll show you our favorite tips for safe water-bath canning and keeping traditions alive.

Family Recipe for Spaghetti Sauce:
9 C. tomatoes
1 C. onions
3 cloves garlic
1 C. red wine
4 Tb. fresh oregano
6 tsp. fresh basil
2 tsp. Italian seasoning
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper

Add 2Tbs. lemon juice to each quart jar before canning sauce. Quart jars are filled to 1/2″ headspace and process for 45 min.
